All I want for Christmas...

since a few people...my mom and sister (ha ha ha)...want to know what I want...I thought I'd share my Kandee wish list with you...but I would've settled for no presents...just them coming to see me for Christmas...I can't wait!!! But since they do want to get me a lil' somethin' ....here goes....
click on the names and I put the links to take you where to get them if you want!

1. Vanilla Extreme by Comptoir Sud Pacifique
i love this perfume and have been wearing it for years!!! it smells like cake!

2. Salvatore Feragamo's Encanto SHINE
it's so hard for me to find perfume's that i like...then my sister had it one, and I was like, "whuuuuuuut, are you wearing...i luuuuuuuv it!?!"
3. Sabre Sunglasses in the KOZOI model
i love these for so many reasons...1, kinda 80's and i love that...2, kinda tough with the studs, and 3 they are funky fresh....and I bet few will dare to wear them...and that's what I love wearing! ha ha ha

4. URBAN DECAY BOOK OF SHADOWS II
I actually already got it...but I would've asked for it too! I love this....you get 16 shadows for 48 bucks! And the colors, are amazing...plus you get eye primer, and 2 liners...! I love the greens and the taupes....and the golds...i love me all!!!! this has already gone on a trip with me...and not one eyeshadow broke on the flight!!!
5. Skull Candy Headphones
I can't decide between the white ones THE SKULL CANDY GI

or the HESH PAUL FRANK, i love both....and since when I'm flying, i don't want people to have to hear my voice, as I edit videos, i can barely stand heraing my own voice! ha ha ha...and skull candy's are comfy, and cute, and have made it on some "best of headphones" lists...and "candy" is in their name!
6. Woo Jacket's
i love woo, which is their website name too! i want to live in their jackets...they are cut nicer than any jacket I've ever tried on...they make you look skinny!!!!
I want the SABRINA, the cropped one in black...I have the teal, but I want a lil' black one too...and I really LOVE this one too!! the cut is so modern and timeless, and no one will have a coat like yours! I want to live in this jacket! (it's the STASSIA COAT)...
I did a video touring Stacy's store....wait til you see it! I LOVE all her clothes sooooo much, I've worn a lot of her clothes in videos, like my hair cut on melrose one! love everything!
and a nice pair tall slouchy boots, like in the picture above! hee hee hee

so that's what I hope might find it's way under my tree! And I'm off to brave all the other last minute shoppers at the store, to find all my peeps their presents! merry almost Christmas...with a hot peppermint white chocolate in hand!!! xoxo kandee

Cast Your Beauty Ballot: Stila Eye Shadow in Kitten vs. Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Midnight Cowboy

Happy election week, dolls!

Today, I'm presenting you with sets of two similar beauty products. After reading through reviews of both products, you'll be tasked with casting your beauty ballot by voting for one of the two using the poll service below. The first vote to rock? Stila Eyeshadow in Kitten vs. Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy!

Stila Eye Shadow Pan in Stila ($18)
This full-coverage nude pink shadow is more shimmery than glittery. It even glints a bit gold in certain light. Stila's high quality formula and texture (for which the brand has won awards from Allure and In Style) can be worn both wet and dry. P.S. It comes in Stila's Celebrate and Shine Holiday Gift Set, a $114 value, will set you back only $40.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy ($16) really IS the perfect equivelant of Kitten. This pink champagne-hued shadow infused with lots of silver glitter is Urban Decay's best selling shadow. A bit more sheer than its Stila counterpart, this powder can also be worn wet or dry. Its sheer subtlety is tempered by its glitteriness, however. Can even be swept onto cheeks as a highlighter or collarbones for definition.

Which one are you more likely to buy? Or, if you've tried both, tell me which one tickles your fancy more.

Halloween Makeup How-to: Betty Draper

Happy Halloween, dolls! Check my costume! It's phenom, is it not? You can't really get the full effect from this pic, I was having a not untypical, but highly irritating unphotogenic night. Lauren and I (she's pictured on the right dressed as the Walk of Shame) have caucused and we have decided that it's my camera's fault. We're both far more fly in pictures from others' cameras. I'll be reenacting this entire look tonight as well, so I'm hoping for a better Kodak moment.

Anywho, my Betty Draper costume was quite a hit. I rocked a vintage yellow necklace, a green ruffly shirt that screamed Betty to me, a black mini (which Betty would never wear, but alas, Halloween IS the slut olympics and I have to contend), a vintage apron which totes came in handy as I am a mage drink spiller, some Cole Haan beige patent pumps, and some pearls. Here's a run-down of all the products I used:

Make Up For Ever HD Invisible Cover Foundation
($40)

Laura Mercier Full Faux Lashes ($18)

Benefit Erase Paste ($26)

Givenchy Parad'Eyes in Dream in Black ($27)

Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Midnight Cowboy
($16 for single shadow)

Fiberwig Mascara ($22)

Urban Decay Red Lipstick in Revolution ($22)

BT dubs, I didn't get a haircut; I just Bettified my 'do. How did I do it? By securing a very low ponytail and then tucking the elastic and the end of the ponytail underneath my hair and anchored it with bobby pins. Then, I curled the front layers with a large curling iron. UPDATE: Bella explains it WAY better in this post I just read.

Also, I used a new unique product I'm lurving by Jessica Simpson crony Ken Paves called Boost Up Color Drops in Platinum ($40). Just a few pumps of this purple color-depositing liquid added to a dollop of conditioner (and also to your styling products) will brighten up your hue in minutes. I also love it in the honey shade, which is a rich gold. This stuff will even extend the life of your color during the ever-increasing (thanks, crap economy) damn-I'd-better-get-to-the-colorist weeks.

What are you dressing as for All Hallow's Eve? Tell me in the comments!

A Palatable Palette.

Dear Urban Decay,
I admit that I was initially turned off by your goth-inspired packaging. As a teen in the 90s, I found goths supremely irritating as they are a) inherently anathema to my inner prom queen and b) a contradiction in terms as they are "uniformly nonconformist"
(to quote Jay McInerney's thoughts on yuppies).
But then, I realized that your makeup is of fantastic quality. The color pay-off is impressive and there's just so much sparkly. I love me some sparkly.
Your new Book of Shadows Palette ($45) is, in equal parts, beauty and utility. It's even thrifty: $45 buys you 16 eyeshadows, two premium brushes, and a travel-sized Eyeshadow Primer Potion. People RAVE about this primer potion, dolls. There's also a large mirrored vanity, framed by 3D pop-ups of Urban Decay graphics: birds, skulls, and flowers spring forward against a backdrop of flourishes, jewels, and butterflies. I'll forgive the skulls (my least fave goth decoration) because one of the shadows, Midnight Cowboy (a golden beige with gold glitter) yields shimmery perfection on my lids. The other shades are:
Perversion (matte black), Last Call (plum punch), Grifter (sheer lavender with lots of silver microglitter), Mayhem (deep purple), Baked (rich bronze), Smog (deep coppery bronze), Sidecar (bronze sparkle), Gridlock (medium brown), Shakedown (shimmering taupe), Roach (deep brown with reddish sheen), Scandal (peachy-pink), Goddess (midnight blue with lots of electric blue microglitter), Shattered (bright green/blue shift), Absinthe (electric green), Protest (dark green).
A+, Urban Decay. Can you forgive me?
Love,
Amber

I'm so excited!!!!

I've been working, printing, planning, calling, arranging, designing...and more.....all to make this weekend's Glaminars, amazing!

things I am so excited about:

1. Urban Decay is giving us giftbags for the Glaminars! (I don't want to say all the goodies that will be inside...but I am sooooo excited!!!!)

2. Dinair is donating a couple airbrush kits...worth over $200!

3. Zuca bags is giving us at least one (maybe 2), of their awesome make-up bags! (I use mine everytime I travel or work!)

and I have a few surprises and presents up my sleeve too!

WE are also going to be having a meet and greet after the Glaminars on saturday, at 5:30pm on the rooftop of The Hotel Solamar (check the glaminar website for details, under "aftershow")....
CLICK HERE TO GO TO WWW.GLAMINAR.COM

I can't wait to meet you all there! This is going to be like the most fun party...but you're gonna leave with so much knowledge! It will change your future...you will learn how to bring that beauty from your heart, all the way to your smile! And how to launch a whole new career!

I still need to pack bags, wrap presents, finalize details...and check on all the other surprises that I'm working on for you all!
I have a lot to do, so I have to go now....but just know I love you all!

Remember that no matter what is going on in your life, cling to the good, the little bits of hope that you have...
I  had a rough day the other day (a particular event that really made me have a BADDDD headache to say the least! ha ha ha), but I clung on to the things I love...the hope, the excitement for the future...and I had my 2 sweet and sparkling friends, Tamara and Teresa (double T's), to make me laugh, shine their smiles, and share their glittering hearts...they made me laugh in the middle of tears...the hugged me in the middle of pain...and comforted me. I had my sweet boyfriend, smiling little people...my mom and sister, via phone...and I just want you to know, if you ever feel alone, or sad....I am sending you hugs right to your heart..always! Just so you know, life is never perfect, we face difficult situations...but they make us stronger, wiser, and build character. Without character, we are like frames without pictures inside them...
so let's paint a beautiful picture of strength and beauty on the canvases of our lives....let nothing get us down...because we will keep on gettin' back up!
Let's celebrate...and I'm ready to celebrate with you!

This Glaminar is going to be so amazing! I can't wait to meet each and every one of you!
huge love...laughs and something glittery....your kandee

Finest Hour Week: Guys and Dolls Gloss

Perfect for prom: Urban Decay introduced their scandalous new Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss this month. It's totes reminiscent of those naked dude pens so popular at such stores as Spencer's Gifts (remember? In the MALL?).

Inside the double-sided cap is a photo of one of eight hot guys. With just the flick of your wrist, you can undress them down to their undershorts, in the words of the fabulous Blanche Devereaux (and each is pictured both front and back)! Thanks to Fashion Binge's Tamron for reminding me of that key Blanche quote, BT dubs ("Know him? Why, I left my undershorts on his radiatah!")

Are you ready for the best part? The lip gloss vial is decorated with pheromone-laced ink. I'm kind of a sucker for pheromones, dolls. I guess everyone is, isn't that the point? Undetectable to smell, releasing even the slightest amount of pheromones enhances mood and sexual attraction. Give the tube a little rub to release the magic. You know it, I know it, and Brenda Walsh certainly knew it: There's no better time than prom for some pheromones. Just saying.

Available in eight shades, this highly-pigmented lip gloss formula even plumps. It contains Hyaluronic Spheres (found naturally in the body) to improve cellular function, prevent dehydration, and fill in lines and wrinkles. Each shade is semi-sheer, but UD designed them with multiple finishes: cream, shimmer or sparkle.

Pocket Rocket Lip Gloss is available for $18 at Sephora.com, ULTA and select Macy’s West locations.
