(it was dangerously, hot outside...ooooh even the streets say DANGER in LA...ha ha ha...it's just from the old trolley cars..that my great-gramma rode on!)

i grew up watching Pee Wee's Playhouse, The Snorks, and Full House...
i wore side ponytails, studded boots, and lots of scrunchies in my hair...

I love the 80's!!!
Later in life...in the 2000's (so space-age and modern)....I did make-up for the show, I LOVE THE 80's, that's on VH1...and I always loved how they'd bring up old things I'd forgotten about...like the show, Alf, or something funny....

This outfit wasn't made to be "80's", but everyone seemed to make a comment about , "oh, rockin' the 80's"..."bringing the 80's back"..."80's..this...80's that"...ha ha ha ha
so here it is...and I'm cool with the 80's reference...I say it's more 2009-and-a-half....ha ha ha

Chain (wallet chain from Hot Topic)
Skapron (skirt + apron)...I made it from cutting an old pair of Levi 501's (the button fly kind), cut like in the video.....

have an awesome and rad (rad was born in the 80's and is still cool...ha ha ha) day.....

a day in LA

i love sundays...

and here's why this one was a favorite....

I went to meet my friend Tessa for breakfast at her friends loft across from where I'm staying with my other friend that was working on a shoot...

I got a free pair of Ashbury (the super cool sunnies, pictured above) sunglasses from her friend Adam, who photographs the sunglasses....

we then had a really fun breakfast....with lots of laughing..my favorite past time...

then we all went to a sample sale up in one of the lofts...as, again, pictured above.....ha ha ha...they had free cupcakes!!!

and picture booths...as seen in the buildings in the background......

then we all went to the Renegade Craft Show in the craft mart building in downtown...please note the extreme heat coming off the hot sidewalk in downtown LA....sweat was rolling down my back.....and I smelled like I should have worn a stick of deodorant around my neck...ha ha ha

it was so fun to be swimming in a sea of creativity....I got a really cool necklace at the craft-bonanza....it says SUPREME from a Cutlass Supreme car sign thing....I'll show you more later....it's AWESOME!

I got a free shirt to go with my free sunglassers.....

and I got a bracelet from my friend...turquoise and black leather!!!! me fav!

 I had a great meeting in a Starbucks....

had a yummy burger from the same place i ate  breakfast....

had a whole deck of people at the rooftop pool all yell, "good bye KANDEE!!!".....like 30 or 40 people......i felt so cool in that moment!!! hee hee

so long for a moment to that "not-as-popular-as-the-rest" girl in high school....

and with every ounce of my creativity....My heart rejoiced when someone gave me a compliment for my lil' creation of things I found fun to wear,    that I bought these super fun leggings...even thought i thought, what if people think they are dumb...and I got more compliments on them than anything else.....

I love when i am brave and I wear and say or do the things that I really want.... or that brings me joy....
