Golden Globes Hair: Angelina Jolie's Undone 'Do

The inspiration behind Angelina's 'do was light, airy and natural locks. Celebrity hairstylist David Babaii accomplished this look with three simple tools: a blow-dryer, round brush and the his signature Bohemian Beach Spray ($12).

After blow-drying her hair with his David Babaii for WildAid Blow Dryer ($120) and a round brush, David took large sections twisting the ends around the brush and spraying each with his Bohemian Beach Spray.

Using the dryer's low speed, he gave each section a blast of warm air to set.

After cooling, the section was gently unwrapped from the brush and additional Bohemian Beach Spray was scrunched in to give volume and lift.

The result is a look that is not overdone or un-natural and is easy to achieve at home. Ange does the down 'do well, n'est-ce pas? She knows what works and she sticks with it!

Golden Globes Hair How-to From PureOlogy

I've covered a lot of Golden Globes makeup, gals, but I haven't had a chance to fill you in on the hair. PureOlogy has given me the deets on how to achieve the looks of Kate Winslet, Eva Mendes, Christina Applegate, Evan Rachel Wood, Amanda Seyfried, Anna Paquin, Eva Longoria, and Kate Beckinsale.

Pureology PureArtists, Mary Katherine Hecht and Sherilynn Smart provided these tips on how to recreate the Golden Globes' hair trends from Sunday night’s red carpet event at home.

The top three trends seen on the red carpet:
1. French Twist as seen on Kate Winslet, Eva Mendes and Christina Applegate
2. Classic Upsweep as seen on Evan Rachel Wood, Amanda Seyfried
3. Modern Chignon as seen on Anna Paquin, Eva Longoria, Kate Beckensale

How to achieve them:

French Twist

1) Blow dry hair using a cocktail of Pureology NanoGlaze and PureVolume BlowDryAmplifier.
2) Use a curling iron to set hair using Pureology SprayGel and alternate barrel size and direction for that old Hollywood glamour.
3) Softly twist hair and pin while taming flyaway’s with Pureology NanoWorks ShineLuxe.

Classic Upsweep

1) Blow dry hair using a cocktail of Pureology NanoGlaze and PowerDressing.
2) Set hair away from the face in hot rollers with Pureology SuperStraight HotIronProtectionSpray.
3) Remove the rollers when cool.
4) Finger rake the hair with Pureology NanoWorks ShineLuxe working it all the way through to the ends.
5) Without combing or brushing the hair, pull the hair back using your hands only into a loose ponytail opposite of the nose.
6) Take the ponytail and separate into 3-5 sections depending on the thickness of the hair.
7) Smooth each section with a soft brush to shine the hair, and place in a large pincurl. Use a bobby pin to secure it around the ponytail.
8) Continue to pin each section around the ponytail until all the sections are pinned up.
9) Finish up with Pureology GlossingMist for shine and InChargePlus for hold.

Modern Chignon

1) Apply Pureology StylingLotion from root to end. Blow-dry.
2) Section the head from the highpoint of the head to the ears separating the front of the head from the back.
3) Using Pureology InCharge for added texture lightly backbrush the crown area.
4) Cocktail Pureology DryShine and ShineMax and work through the front section from hairline to the ends. Use this cocktail on the ends of the back section to lend pliability to the hair.
5) Using a soft brush smooth the hair into a low ponytail in the center of the nape opposite of the lips.
6) Fold the hair under and pin at the hairline.
7) Finish with Pureology InChargePlus for amazing hold.

Maria Menounos at the Golden Globes

Celebrity makeup artist Bret Boreman created Maria Menounos' glowing Golden Globes look. I'd posit that Maria Menounos is one of THE most gorge women in Hollywood. Wouldn't you? Here are the deets on how he did it. Check it:

“I wanted Maria’s skin to ‘glow from within’ and to get this effect I used Rock and Republic’s Trickery Tinted Illuminizer ($48) on the bridge of her nose, cheeks and above her cheek bones. Next, I used a matte bronzer to add contour and frame her face. I finished with a light touch of loose powder to achieve a natural glow,” says Bret.

Drawing focus to the eyes - Bret used Saturate Eye Colour in Tempting, Fatalistic, and Affair – giving Maria a hint of smokiness around the eyes. To complete the look, Bret used Luxe Lip Gloss ($26) in Vacant for a nude and natural lip with shine.

Jenna Fischer's Boho Look at The Golden Globes

Make up artist Brett Freedman played up The Office's Jenna Fischer's eyes with liner and a little “out of the box glam” for the usual subtle Jenna. It's very "new post-New York Pam," isn't it? Her dress is one of my faves, though I usually don't favor a pattern.

Brett used the following products:
Foundation: LORAC Oil Free Powder Foundation in #02 (light)
Loose Powder: * magic by Prescriptives in Deep Translucent. It has a gorgeous light reflective quality with a hint of bronze and photographs beautifully.
Concealer: Cle De Peau Concealer in Beige.
Blush: Almay Smart Shade Blush in Natural, topped with LORAC Oil Free Illuminating Powder in Luminous on apples of the cheeks.
Eyeshadow: RIMMEL Colour Rush Mono Eyeshadow in #330 Azure, applied wet and swept over lids and blended down to a sheer finish.
Liquid Liner: LANCOME Laque Liner in Pure Black. Applied a line across the top lash line, thickening and extending out and upward for a dramatic look.
Brow Highlight Shadow: LOREAL HiP pigment powder in Restless. Brett loves to have a bright, crisp browbone. This champagne hued shadow looks natural yet packs a punch.
Mascara: VANITYMARK 'the LASH' in Blackest. Three coats were applied to really amp up the top lashline. One full coat on the bottom to give eyes definition without overpowering the top lash line.
Faux Lashes: Kre-At Beauty individual lashes. A mix of the short (on the inner eye) and the long (for outer) in black were used to give an alluring sweep.
Body Bronzer: VANITYMARK Summerskin, applied first to 'tone down' the tawny shade so Jenna would have a healthy glow without being too tan.
Lips: BENEFIT Pocket Pal in Benetint.

Miley Cyrus and Ginnifer Goodwin Rock Mark at the Golden Globes

Makeup artist Mai Quynh used mark products to create the looks Miley Cyrus and Ginnifer Goodwin rocked at last night.

Miley Cyrus

Eyes: "The inspiration for Miley’s look was young and flirty bohemian. I wanted to keep her makeup soft and golden with a touch of bronze to compliment her white and bronze floral beaded dress. On her inner eyelids, I swept mark Shimmer Cubes in Moonlight and Twilight and mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Tiki in the creases. I lined the bottom of her eyes with mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eyeshadow in Tiki and then coated her eyelashes with mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven," said Mai.

Face:

Sweep mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in Golden Glo

Lips:

Ginnifer Goodwin

Eyes:

"Since Ginnifer’s hair was pulled back into a chignon, my inspiration for her look was an old Prada ad. On her eyelids I swept on a blend of mark I-Mark Custom Pick Eye Shadows in Wink Wink and Corset from the lashline and blended it into the crease. I used the same shades to line the bottom of her eyes, and then coated her eyelashes with mark Make It Big Lash Plumping Mascara in Raven," said Mai.

Golden Globes: Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, and Angelina Jolie

Kate Winslet

Celebrity makeup artist Jillian Dempsey did Lancôme ambassador and Golden Globe winner (finally! Yay for Kate!) Kate Winslet’s makeup. Jillian wanted to play up Kate’s eyes, cheeks and lips. She used Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner in Black on the upper lash line first and then applied dark brown eyeliner and smudged it on the lower lashes. Next, she lightly dusted Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow in Chic on the eyelid. To make Kate’s eyes pop, she added a few coats of Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black. Next, Jillian added some color to the apples of the cheeks by custom blending several shades of coral, peachy blushes together. Jillian opted for a classic red lip and finished the look with Avon Pro-to-Go Lipstick in Cherry Glisten.

Anne Hathaway

Celebrity makeup artist Kate Lee created the gorgeous look for Lancôme ambassador Anne Hathaway. Parenthetically, I thought Anne looked GORGEOUS in the TERRIBLE Bride Wars, which I took in this weekend with Jamie. Kate Hudson should have seriously rethought those bangs. And while the screenplay included a few zingers, the plot itself made me want to die. Unfortunately, there really are many girls plagued with a case of barbie hand just like that in New York. Barbie hand, in case you don't know, is the affliction certain girls are born with that they feel incomplete until they're engaged. It's inspired by Barbie's hole in her hand intended for her engagement ring, which for Barbie, is a little rhinestone peg you push through the hole.

Anyway. Anne looked statuesque in a beautiful navy Armani Privé gown that complimented her alabaster skin tone. Kate wanted to create a classic beauty look, so she focused on eyes and lips. She applied a dark liner to the base of the lashes and used a small brush to blend a dark eye shadow from the lash line upwards. Chanel Soft Touch Eye Shadow in Slate was applied to the crease and along the lower lash line. Next, she curled the lashes with a Shu Uemura eyelash curler and applied several layers of Chanel Inimitable Waterproof Mascara in Noir. For the brows, Kate used Lancôme Le Crayon Poudre in Brunet which was perfect to gently add depth and definition to Anne’s brows. Lancôme Effacernes Concealer in Ivoire was applied under the eyes. Kate sculpted the cheekbones with Chanel Powder Blush in Nude and then applied Lancôme Absolue Powder in Absolute Peche to the top of the cheek bones and along the jaw and clavicle. The lips were a dark raspberry stain. To achieve this, she used a neutral lip liner that matched the color of Anne’s natural lip shade and then applied Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick in Lotus Rouge and blended so here were no hard lines of color. Finally, Chanel Poudre Cristalline was applied to take away the shine from the forehead, nose and chin. A quick spritz of Lancôme Magnifique completed Anne's Golden Globes ensemble.

Angelina Jolie

Celebrity makeup artist Mary Burton created the beautiful look for Angelina Jolie. Angelina chose a sparkling, silver Versace floor-length gown. Mary wanted to create a sheer, natural look and choose to focus on the eyes. She applied Lancôme Artliner in Noir to the lash line starting at the inner corner and blending out. For additional drama Mary used two different mascaras, Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse Mascara in Black and Lancôme Ôscillation Mascara in Black and applied a few coats of both to add volume and length. She added just a touch of color to the apples of her cheeks by applying Lancôme Color Design Blush in Model Mocha with her finger. To finish the look, Mary used Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling for a soft, pale pink, glossy pout. Angelina looked gorgeous as she walked the red carpet with her beau, Brad Pitt.

Slumdog Millionaire's Freida Pinto's Makeup at the Golden Globes

The Golden Globes info is coming in in droves, dolls! I missed the show last night (I know, I'm so DELINQ), but I have it DVR'd and will fill you in on my thoughts later in the week. Freida's look was one of my faves that I've seen on the websites today. Here are the details on how to achieve it yourself:

Makeup artist Jeffrey Paul created a fresh, sunkissed look with Jouer cosmetics for Slumdog Millionaire’s Freida Pinto at the Golden Globes. Freida’s radiant natural beauty and flawless skin tone was the inspiration behind Jeffrey Paul’s, red carpet look. Jeffrey chose a subtle palette of shimmering pinks, champagne and gold to accentuate her flawless skin.

How to create Freida’s radiant red carpet look:

Eyes: Jeffrey used a thick green liner with flecks of gold. He smudged the Jouer Vert eye definer very close to the lashes to frame her eyes, The soft green color complimented her eye coloring while the gold flecks in the liner tied the look together. For additional color, he added Jouer Amaretto eyeshadow in the crease of the eyelid to add definition and blended with a soft brush. The Jouer black mascara was used on both the top and bottom lashes to show off Freida’s long thick lashes.

Skin: To get Freida’s sunkissed look, Jeffrey mixed together foundation and concealer and only used on key spots to blend outward for a soft effect. The Jouer crème highlighter was used on the brow bone and cheek bones to add additional definition and shimmer.

Lips: Jeffrey finished the look using the Jouer crème highlighter matched with the Jouer monsoon gloss. The golden tone of the highlighter accentuated the natural pink color of her lips while the sheer deep wine gloss was the perfect compliment.

The Products:
Eyes: Jouer eye definer – Vert; $20, Jouer black mascara; $18, Jouer crème highlighter – Champagne; $20, Jouer eyeshadow – Amaretto; $20
Skin: Jouer crème highlighter – Champagne; $20
Lips: Jouer crème highlighter – Champagne; $20
Lipgloss: – Jouer Monsoon; $20

Salma Hayek's Makeup at The Golden Globes

This just in from NARS...

“Salma’s makeup look was directly inspired by her dress,” said NARS Makeup Artist Matthew Vanleeuwen. “She chose a very neutral colored dress and wanted to make sure her makeup look would pop. I made her eyes the focus and added a lot of rich, jewel skin tones and fresh color to her cheeks and lips. Her look was very classic and chic, with some modern textures.”

Below is Matthew’s step-by-step to recreate Salma’s look:

Eyes:

· Apply the China Blue Single Eyeshadow into top and bottom lash line [Matthew’s tip: “I love using navy colors because they make the whites of the eyes pop.”]

· Next, use the Corfu Cream Eyeshadow as a base, all over eyelid

· Use the golden champagne side of the Alhambra Duo Eyeshadow on lid

· Then, use the Bengali Single Eyeshadow all along the lash line, rubbing it into the lash line, deepening the outer corner of the eye, creating shading

· Curl the eyelashes and put 2 coats of Black Orchid Mascara on lashes

· Go back over top lash line with the Night Clubbing Eyeshadow and use what is left on the brush under the eye to define it [Matthew’s tip:“This shade is perfect to create a smokey eye – it gives a rich sparkle at the lash line with undertones of green and gold.”]

Complexion:

· Use the Brightening Serum to make skin glow and apply the Makeup Primer

· Apply the Firming Foundation and set it with the Loose Powder

Lips:

· Use the Marnie Lipliner Pencil and Tutti Fruity Lipstick

· Next, mix the Boogie Nights and Greek Holiday Lipglosses and apply them over the lipstick

Blush:

· Apply the Desire Blush to the apple of cheeks [Matthew’s tip: “I use a powder brush to apply blush. I find that a bigger brush makes a much softer wash of color.”]

· Next, use the Laguna Bronzer with short, back and forth stokes from the back of cheekbone forward, to blend
